Music Lessons

Learning a musical instrument is great fun and has been shown to also improve performance in other subjects. It develops creativity, discipline and gives young people a chance to express themselves. We have a strong tradition of talented young musicians at Sheldon and our concerts are a highlight of the school year!

Along with our music curriculum, we offer Sheldon students an opportunity to take individual music lessons from our peripatetic music teachers. These lessons are arranged independently with each teacher and take place at Sheldon during school hours. Please contact the teacher directly for more information.

Funding opportunities for instrument rental and lessons may be available through Wiltshire Music Connect. We also offer Year 7 students a discount on music lessons. No previous experience is required.

Having worked in many schools I can say that the environment at Sheldon School is one of the best I’ve ever seen. The standard of education and relationships I built with teachers were exceptional.
