Student Leadership

Playing an active role in student leadership is an important part of student life at Sheldon. Through our Student Leadership and Tutor Representative system, subject ambassador roles and Sixth Form mentoring programme, students have many different opportunities to contribute to the school.

Sheldon students are encouraged to play an active role in influencing decisions that have an impact on their day-to-day experiences through the tutor representative system. Most students will have an opportunity to take on a leadership role within their tutor group and become a tutor representative at least once during their time at Sheldon. Tutor group representatives meet regularly with the Head of Year to discuss their concerns and share information with their tutor group.

We also have a Student Leadership Team that includes our Sixth Form Presidents, Head Prefects and representatives from each year group. It meets at least once every half term to discuss important issues facing the school and plan charity events. The Student Leadership Team is involved in a range of issues ranging from teaching and learning approaches, commissioning garden design contractors and choosing décor for facilities improvement such as our fantastic, award-winning refectory.

Student Leadership Team 2024-2024

Congratulations to all of the students selected as our Student Leadership Team 2024-2025. We look forward to working with you this year!

Having worked in many schools I can say that the environment at Sheldon School is one of the best I’ve ever seen. The standard of education and relationships I built with teachers were exceptional.
