Flying Start Challenge - Round 2

4 Mar 25

The engineers from AtkinsRéalis were back last week to support the winning teams from the first round of the Flying Start Challenge as they began to build their gliders. They worked with the students to discuss the principles of flight and how they can incorporate them into their design. Students have to follow a strict brief, using recycled materials and sticking to a budget as they design their glider. Once completed, they will test their designs in a fly-off to decide which team will move on to the next stage of the competition.

I was head girl in 2015 and loved being able to speak to parents about my time at Sheldon when they were considering where their children should go. Because of how it has shaped me as a person I feel I am who I am today because of my time there.
