Louise Carver - Fabulously supportive Chair of Governors

After nine incredible years of service to Sheldon School, including five as our outstanding Chair of Governors, we bid farewell to Louise Carver as she embarks on an exciting new chapter in Scotland.

Louise's leadership, dedication and compassion have left an indelible mark on our school. With a wealth of experience as a senior RAF officer, learning & development specialist and workplace mediator, Louise has guided us through challenges with wisdom and professionalism, always championing staff and student wellbeing.

She was recognised as one of Swindon and Wiltshire’s most inspiring women in 2024, and her impact will be felt for years to come. Her unwavering support of Sheldon School and the community it serves has really been appreciated. Everyone at Sheldon wold like to thank her for her kindness, guidance and friendship. You’ll always be part of the Sheldon family! We look forward to welcoming Louise back to our Awards Evening next year as we present the inaugural Louise Carver Award for Giving Back to the Community in her honour.

My favourite teacher was Mr Girvan. It was impossible not to absolutely love English if he taught it. He was just the nicest human being and he never raised his voice at our class once and I had him for years from year 8 to year 12.
