We had a wonderful Children in Need Day today. We still need to get the final totals from all the activities today, but anticipate we've raised over £600 to help change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

BBC Points West visited us at lunchtime. Watch the 6:30pm News and the national Children in Need broadcast to see Sheldon in the montage of activities happening around the region. We think we'll be featured around 7:50pm.

Thank you to everyone who generously donated and provided cakes for our many bake sales! We'd like to say an especially big thank you to the family of Max in Year 9 for always providing the most beautiful and delicious cakes and cookies. Next time we have a sale, they are not to be missed!

Our Sixth Form students looked fantastic in their fancy dress representing their childhood dreams and ambitions. We had doctors, lawyers, lifeguards, builders, cooks, pilots, dancers, farmers and a few favourite cartoon characters. We hope that studying at Sheldon Sixth Form helps them achieve those dreams. Although we don't currently have any courses to become Elmo!

The sponges were flying all in the name of charity during our Splat the Teacher event. Our students were feeling very generous today and upgraded their donations to purchase many, many buckets cold water to dump over the heads of our staff. We have to thank all the teachers that volunteered to get soaked by students during a very chilly lunchtime. You all deserve a nice warm cup of tea after this afternoon!

The theme this year is 'make life lighter for children'. Children across the UK are facing greater challenges than ever, with mental health conditions such as anxiety & depression rising, high levels of poverty leading to inequality & lack of opportunity. Only with your support can Children in Need help to lighten the load for hundreds of thousands of children when they need us most.
