GCSE Photography Trip to Lacock

24 Nov 25

Last week was the turn of our Y11 photography to visit William Fox Talbot Museum in Lacock. The museum tells the history of photography from Victorian times to the present and celebrates the life and work of Fox Talbot, a pioneer in the photographic process. They also visited Unseen Colour, a special exhibition highlighting the works of Werner Bischof, a photojournalist and early adopter of colour photography.

This trip gives students an opportunity to learn more about the history of photography and see examples of how the medium has evolved over time. They were also able to use this inspiration gained from the museum to practice taking photos around the grounds of the beautiful Lacock Abbey.

My favourite teacher was Mr Girvan. It was impossible not to absolutely love English if he taught it. He was just the nicest human being and he never raised his voice at our class once and I had him for years from year 8 to year 12.
