The Friends of Sheldon School (FOSS) raises money to fund much-needed equipment and activities for all students at the school. It helps support the extensive enrichment programmes at Sheldon - including trips, extracurricular activities and other learning opportunities.

Together we can play a vital role in the lives of students at Sheldon by funding the extras that make school so much more enjoyable and rewarding. If you would like to find out more about the FOSS or would like to get involved planning fundraising activities and allocating grants, please get in touch!

Student Activities

The Friends of Sheldon School supports extracurricular activities through the Sheldon Student Opportunity Fund. These include the Sheldon Science Club, Lego Club, Year 7 Wellbeing Club, Allotment Club and D&D Club. We have funded equipment for our Ten Tors and Duke of Edinburgh teams to use during their expeditions and helped our the Sheldon Dance Company fund their trip to the Great Big Dance Off Grand Final.

Book Buzz

Each year our Year 7 students are welcomed to Sheldon with a free book as part of their introduction to the school library. They get to select their preferred book and can read it during their English and Library lessons. This is a tradition that FOSS is proud to support.

School trips

School trips are one of the most memorable parts of a young person's life. Not only do they help support learning and bring ideas to life, they may also provide new opportunities for students to experience travel outside of our school community. The trips we fund may be linked to curriculum or part of the school's pastoral work. We have partially funded trips to the Bristol Hippodrome, Bletchley Park, the Houses of Parliament and the annual Year 7 Camp.

We have a variety of ways to help support the fund. No matter how much you give, everything helps to give students more opportunities to learn and grow outside the classroom.
