Who to contact if you have a SEND concern about your child:
Your child’s tutor is the first point of contact about any concerns you may have about their academic process, class-groupings, general wellbeing, behaviour, friendships, issues at home, day-2-day school information, etc. However, for any specific SEND related queries please contact Learning Support.
If your child is on our SEND register under SEN Support or because they have an EHCP, you will have a number of opportunities during the year to meet your child’s key person to review their SEND support and progress towards outcomes. Our SEND review events take place three times a year. If your child has an EHCP, you will also be invited to their statutory Annual Review.
If your child is on our SEND register, please email their allocated SEND key person in the first instance. Their contact details will have been sent to you. If you are unsure who to contact, please email senco@sheldonschool.co.uk. The key person can offer support with SEND related issues, such as additional provision and SEND needs. If your concern is not adequately dealt with, please contact the SENCO.
For concerns not related to SEND e.g. homework, friendships, bullying, overall academic progress and wellbeing please contact your child’s tutor in the first instance.
If your child is not on our SEND register but you are concerned your child may have special educational needs, please click here.
