The Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award is completed during Year 10 and takes a minimum of 6 months to complete if you have achieved your Bronze Award, 12 months if you are starting at Silver. It involves completion of volunteering, physical and skills sections along with an expedition. You will need to spend 6 months on volunteering. For your physical and skill sections you will need to choose one to complete in 6 months, the other 3 months. If you have not achieved the Bronze award, you will need to do further 6 months in either the volunteering or the longer of the physical or skills sections.

The 3-Day, 2-Night expedition is delivered by Sheldon School staff with the training day organised by our partners H5 Adventure. You will need to attend training days and practice expeditions to achieve your award.
